Today I finally installed bees in the Observation Hive I have been building for some months now.
One frame of brood with mostly larvae and eggs, a frame of honey and pollen and a frame of foundation. There is no queen so we can watch the bees raise a new queen.
The hive is connected to the outside via a 32mm clear poly pipe.
Because it is such a small colony there is a fixed boardman feeder so I can feed syrup and probably pollen through the fly wire.
This is definitely the most interesting beekeeping project so far. And I think it will be a pretty cool conversation piece for visitors.
