The two mulberries were planted out in the wind. The tall Mulberry is clearly being affected by the wind, but standing up surprisingly well. We have planted a few nurse trees on the west side to ameliorate the wind. This should have been done before we planted the Mulberries or planted in a more sheltered spot. Sheltered spots for fruit trees are at a premium now.
Planted two Kangaroo Apples (Solanum linearifolium) close to each fruit tree and a ring of alternating Kangaroo Apples and Tagasaste (Chamaecytisus palmensis) to protect from the west and south.
